About the Program

Biomedical Engineering views the human body as an engineered system. It takes engineering principles and technology and brings it together with our advancing understanding of biology to meet the challenges of human health and healthcare.

After a first year of general study, students are introduced to the four main themes in the biomedical engineering program: biomechanics & biomaterials, bioinformatics, cellular bioengineering, and biomedical systems and signals.

As you move forward through the undergraduate program, you can begin to customize your education experience by focusing your courses on specializations that fall into any of these areas without having to give up any BME topics that interest you.

The program is fully accredited and gives you a direct path to future careers across research, hospitals, academia, pharmaceuticals, entrepreneurship, biotechnology, medical technology and more.
