The SBME Strategic Plan outlines what we must do in the next five years to achieve SBME’s Vision of:
Transformed health and healthcare for all, achieved through innovative research and education at the convergence of engineering, medicine and biology.
The plan builds from a foundation that prioritizes cutting-edge research, future-oriented educational programming, and strong partnerships, and emphasizes strategic ecosystem engagement, building bridges with BC communities and throughout the University of British Columbia (UBC), strengthening clinical integration, a greater emphasis on research translation and innovation, financial sustainability and building our internal culture of shared success and belonging.
Strategic Focus
By 2030, we will position SBME as a globally recognized leader in biomedical engineering by delivering dynamic and future-oriented educational programming, propelling research excellence, building bridges across health ecosystems, accelerating research translation and advancing our visibility, impact and leadership.
Detailed Plan
The plan sets out the strategic priorities that define our focus for the next five years and key capabilities answer that ‘what must we be good at, or develop, to achieve our strategic priorities?’ In order to stay on track, we’ve created a detailed plan, with initiatives we plan to accomplish over the next five years.
