Research Theme:
Cellular & Molecular Engineering,Research Interests:
islet beta cell formation from pancreatic stem or progenitor cells, cell-based prevention and reversion of beta cell deterioration and loss in diabetes
Biography:
The Lynn laboratory focuses on the gene regulatory networks at play in the progenitor cells and how these networks change during differentiation to mature endocrine cells and in the long-term maintenance of the β-cell. A greater understanding of these genetic mechanisms and pathways will refine cell-based approaches for preventing and reversing the β-cell deterioration and loss that occurs with diabetes.
RESEARCH EXCELLENCE
We value a diverse, team-based approach to answering these questions and enjoy sharing our expertise to facilitate others’ research goals. We use a wide variety of approaches in the lab including: genome editing, reprogramming, stem cell differentiation, single cell omics, mouse genetics, cell physiology, organismal physiology, cell transplantation, live cell and intravital
imaging, in silico and imaged based screening.
