The School of Biomedical Engineering is pleased to welcome Dr. Todd Fernandez to our faculty.

Dr. Fernandez joins SBME from the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech, where he served as Director of Learning Innovation and Senior Lecturer. His work focuses on engineering education, scholarship of teaching and learning, and developing innovative approaches to how students experientially become engineers.

“Todd brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to reimagining engineering education. We’re excited to welcome his perspective and expertise as we continue to strengthen and evolve the educational experience at SBME,” comments Dr. Govind Kaigala, Director of SBME.

“I am excited by the vision and sense of opportunity in the short time I have been part of the SBME community. It is apparent that this is an opportunity to work with a kind and caring colleagues, which I think is the most important thing you can have in academia. I’m humbled to be part of a department that sees education and research as multiplicative,” comments Dr. Todd Fernandez.

We are truly delighted to have Dr. Fernandez join the SBME community and look forward to the contributions he will make to our students, teaching, and growing educational programs.
