We are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s 2025 School of Biomedical Engineering Trainee Research Awards. These grants are valued at up to $10,000 per project and support trainee-led collaborations between laboratories, encouraging master’s and PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and research assistants (RAs) to initiate cross-disciplinary work. A total of $50,000 in funding was available in this competition.
The awards are open to all SBME graduate students, Postdocs, and RAs, with the goal of catalyzing innovative research that leverages diverse expertise across labs. To maintain this collaborative focus, funding is not provided for projects supporting the work of a single trainee; instead, proposals must demonstrate true partnership and shared leadership across teams.
The Trainee Research Awards reflect SBME’s commitment to empowering emerging scientists and fostering a culture of collaboration that drives impactful biomedical innovation.
